It all started on a rainy day and I was looking for something to do. My Mum suggested that I could make some earrings, so she dug out all the supplies she had from when she made them when she was younger. I got the hang of making them really quickly, so I gave a few pairs to friends.
But soon there was to many pairs even if I kept some and gave some to friends, so I decided to make a business out of it and sell them. This way I could make loads of earrings and I would have the money to buy the supplies from the money I get from the pairs that I sell. So me and my Mum made: a logo, a website, business cards, and instagram account, and much more. Then we told everyone we knew about our idea, and gave them the link to our website so they could have a look.
Luckily the idea of the business came around in October, this is luck because if we had a lot of earrings made and the website and social media accounts set up by November time, then we would get a lot of sales because people often buy earrings as Christmas; and it would give people just enough time to buy some of my earrings just in time for Christmas!
When I started making earrings, it was just another one of those crafts I did, but as I made more and more, it gradually got more fun; deciding which colour theme the next pair would use, what shaped beads should I use? What coloured beads would I use? What charms should I use? What colour hooks and headpins will I use? What pattern should I put all the beads or charms in? There are so many things to decide, and it makes picking out, designing, and making earrings all the more interesting.
